other's driving your car

ho do you let drive your car? Your significant other? your friends? your parents? What's your opinion

NastyEllEssWon 11-16-2011 01:26 PM

no one. period.

MyFirstZ 11-16-2011 01:29 PM

I love having people drive my car. Since the experience when i first got it is gone. Cool to see everyone elses reaction. I will only offer if i can trust the person. If i can trust the person they can drive it as hard as they want, but i tell everyone don't break it loose.

LTb1ow 11-16-2011 01:30 PM

Tis a liability, so no

Phoenixfire1989 11-16-2011 01:33 PM

I usually let my significant other drive my car..if they can handle it with it's quirks. I don't let my friends drive it, but i'll let my dad since his eyes light up when he drives it.

LS1ow 11-16-2011 01:38 PM

only people that drive my car are people that let me drive there car that performs like mine. all my friends with evos and mustangs and what not have driven my car. my friends that arent into cars that just have regular vehicles will never.

BonzoHansen 11-16-2011 02:10 PM

It's a car, bfd. I'd let just about anyone drive it that I'd let drive my daily cars. My wife cannot drive amanual trans or I'd let her drive it.

Here is how to know your car has issues: If you let someone drive it and you have to give them specific instructions "make sure you do x, y, z. if it does this, than press this button twice. and don't touch the red button" lol

I'm the same way. Go ahead and drive either one of them. But if you bust it you have to pay parts/labor to fix it.

Anti_Rice_Guy 11-16-2011 02:18 PM

Never more than a 30 sec drive for liability reasons.

However, the requirement is that they must have a vehicle of equal or greater capability.

This applies to all the vehicles in my sig.

I don't want to hate someone for messing up my car so I'm picky with who drives it. Gina knows I'm a nut so she just doesn't really care to drive either of my cars (TA scares her anyway). My Dad is allowed to drive any of my stuff along with a few select friends who I know will show proper respect.

I do not blame you in the least regarding the TA. I'm sure that car goes from zero to closed casket funeral in about 3 seconds.

My dad and brother drove my car just after I bought it. Don't think I'd have an issue letting either one of them drive it again. I try to keep my wife as far away as possible, for multiple reasons.

Phoenixfire1989 11-16-2011 02:26 PM

I don't really let anyone drive my formula..cause most people i know don't know how to drive a stick shift

Meh, choppy cam and larger torque converter are not exactly "normal" driving to most.

But, I haz switches doe, so I am no longer applicable.

BullittSVT 11-16-2011 03:55 PM

Usually no, although I let my step dad drive it twice.. my brother once (he offered to put gas in it so yes yes), and maybe my friend once (he drives a Z06, GTO, Z28s etc..)

My car - prized possession.

ALLLLLLLTHHHOUUGGHHH I do get to drive everyone elses cars since I'm a valet at a casino.

B4C 11-16-2011 04:50 PM

My dad is the only one I trust to drive my car.

sweetbmxrider 11-16-2011 05:09 PM

You break it, you bought it. So far no takers. I am also one who would only trust it with those that will respect it and not just joy ride and beat on it. I'll take people for rides in it any day of the week though!
