plow question
im picking up a 1989 k5 blazer that has a western 7'5 plow setup i was wondering if i can take the plow set up off the k5 blazer and make it work on my 88 gmc k1500 pick up
|
Two different frame styles (although both are half tons).
I want to say the 88 K1500 frame is actually wider than the 89 K5 frame but I don't know for sure that it will not work. Worse case scenario you spend a few bucks on another plow frame. |
thanks im going to pick the truck next week and see if i can try to make it work
|
or i fix the k 5 and plow with it this year

I can measure a K5 blazer frame this weekend if you'd like and then compare it to an 88 frame that I have.
I know the axles in the K5/K10 is narrower than the 88-98 body style and the frame is narrower behind the motor mounts. I imagine it means the entire frame is narrower but I don't want to jump to conclusions. I actually have an 87 K10 plow mount I can line up on my 1997 (1988 frame under the truck) tomorrow after work if you'd like to know for sure. |
pretty sure the frames are different...most IFS meant plow setups i see don't mount up the same as the solid axle setups
