Hackintosh

Anyone done it? I built a system with Win 7 about a year ago and am growing immensely sick of Windows and all its bugs. Currently, my shockwave keeps crashing and i can't seem to remedy it. It's time for something new. Microsoft isn't getting another dime out of me.

I thought about switching to Ubuntu or Linux Mint but the lack of support from so many different programs turned me off. I am still thinking about it though. I suppose I could use it as my primary OS and run a Virtual Machine of Win 7 if its worth it.

Now, my friend says he can probably get a genuine copy of OSX Lion on my computer with some tweaks via Hackintosh (whatever that is) and Parallels which should let me open a virtual machine of Win 7). Should I bother? Anyone been down this road before? I've really only owned Windows operated computers before, but I have used OSX extensively at school and on friends' laptops.

Thoughts? I use the computer mostly for surfing, word processing, music and videos, and some games.

I have a MacBook I use most of the time. I have it set to dual boot the Mac OS and Windows 7 just incase I really need Windows for anything. I rarely use the Windows partition but is convenient.

I also have a computer set up for my kids that I installed ubuntu on. It's an older computer so it's slow but the interface is really nice. I don't have the patience anymore to try and get windows programs to run but it can be done.
on it.
