Im stepping out of the f body game because i recently ran into a lot of trouble with speeding. This is the main reason i'm getting rid of my car....plus ive had my fun

Slow-V6 12-19-2011 08:01 PM

I wouldnt.. The car has alot of miles for being only 5 yrs old and the seats look stained at least on my CPU they do.

Just drive your car like a normal car on the street and you wont get into trouble!! I am a 489rwhp Trans am that has no front plates, no inspection sticker, and is loud as hell. I have yet to get pulled over or a ticket for it and I take it out pretty much every weekend.

shadowfire 12-19-2011 08:27 PM

yea it was all those miles that got me,, you could sell you z and have some money for something new with less miles??

BullittSVT 12-19-2011 09:05 PM

I love the look of those Legacy's alot.. buuuuuuut I will also advise to pass. I try my best not to be pulled over, I drive conservatively but still have my fun. I've only taken my Z over 100 once since i've owned it. Keep the car and drive for mpg now

sweetbmxrider 12-19-2011 09:54 PM

Trade + cash only. Interior is rough and mileage is a little much. Most likely its a good amount of highway though. I don't mind subi's one bit and they do last, but they tend to develop their share of problems (like most cars) over the 100k mark. I think you could get something better.

WiMiMc 12-19-2011 10:59 PM

if you're dead set on getting a different car, why not look into a Cruze or something?

JL8Jeff 12-19-2011 11:35 PM

My brother lost the engine in their Forrester and I've heard of quite a few Subaru's that do the same thing so I would never trust something with that kind of history and that mileage. I would keep looking for some other possible trade.

WayFast84 12-20-2011 12:08 AM

Subaru motors are very rough. They need to be maintained like nothing I've ever heard before. Some of my friends with them change oil every 1000 miles and some even get test kits for their oil. Don't expect to slap on performance parts either, everything you do to a ain't requires a new map. My friend has a stage 2 11' sti with and makes 290/330 awhp and had to upgrade the fuel system. These are not easy like our cars.

Featherburner 12-20-2011 01:05 AM

Subaru has great reliabilty. Just ask all the New Englanders who drive them. My buddy just got rid of an 01 legacy wagon with 280,000. Don't let the miles scare you. Just make sure you evaluate the cosmetic condition completely.

my cousins '11 wrx runs 12's with bolt ons and hes been beating the hell out of that car since the day he got it

FoodStampsz 12-20-2011 09:52 AM

dont do it cam!

T69SS 12-20-2011 10:25 AM

id say pass as well, interior does look neglected and are those scratches all over the rear bumper?

BonzoHansen 12-20-2011 12:12 PM

look at it in person, i'm not sure it is that bad or that it cannot be cleaned up

i got more tickets in my civic ex than I did in my trans am. just saying. that said, if you are serious get something slow that you have ZERO inclination to modify. Like a geo metro. Or you'll be right back to the same place.

LTb1ow 12-20-2011 12:16 PM

Or a saturn. Or get something you will mod, but its slow. Like a pickup.

Camvill 12-20-2011 12:47 PM

If i was to look at this car and consider a trade how much should i ask on top of his car?

Idk? Autocorrect, tiny keys, tired..

It sounds like a bad decision to pick it up but if it were me I wouldnt want the deal unless i got $7000 in assets( a 5k car, 2k cash) minimum. Between 7-7500 is what I would pay for a car like yours in NJ if it was in decent condition.

69BirdX 12-20-2011 02:20 PM

has an interference motor. so your gonna want to get the timing belt replaced if it hasnt been already

98CamaroSS 12-20-2011 03:27 PM

Heck no.....

shadowfire 12-20-2011 04:38 PM

get a pick up for the snow this year

Frosty 12-20-2011 08:19 PM

Aggressive driving and speeding is a driving habit and personality trait regardless of the car. Just because you get a Subaru or a Hon-duh doesn't mean you're automatically going to do the speed limit...just sayin....

Agreed. Also, while I know next to nothing about Subies, I do know that's not one of the GTs (meaning no WRX go-fast motor), so he shouldn't be too inclined to mod. I don't really think the aftermarket is there for the NA cars.

I got more tickets in my civic than all my f-bodies combined.
