I'm Outta Here

After 9 F-bodies 30+ GM cars and trucks I bought a Ford. The world is really going to end.
Good bye T/A hello Mustang.

Thanks. It does roll out nicely. I can't wait make it to Atco once I put some more miles on it.

Looks really clean, best of luck with it!

FYI the max safe speed is 174mph IIRC.

zraffz 02-29-2012 10:04 PM

Congratulations... even as a GM Nazi I would rock a new 5.0

WayFast84 03-01-2012 02:05 AM

Oh that's a fact. My son is 12 so we'll be looking for a car soon and maybe the 6th Gen will go on a diet and woo me over.

Anti_Rice_Guy 03-01-2012 08:23 AM

So much for a Vette, eh? I miss your old car already.

I REALLY wanted a new 5.0 before i bought my Camaro. Common sense ruined the purchase for me :-(

Nice car!

We looked at the Vette. I've been talking about buying a Corvette since forever, but when we sat in it I couldn't see myself driving it on an all day trip or for several hours at a clip. I could see myself driving to Atco or doing some track days.
We looked at the 5th Gen too and I really wanted to be a 5th Gen owner it was even $60 less a month then the Mustang but I couldn't get past the girth and styling especially the dash and tail lights. Its like someone zoomed the dimensions out 150%. Though the 5th Gen does have a softer ride and the quality of the interior in better than the Vette, Mustang, and Challenger.

BTW you could've bought the T/A I was down to $10,500 for it, Dealer gave me $9500 and they sold it in less then a week for $13,000.

I just graduated college, I would've if I could've!

I use my c5 for trips..its very comfortable (if your the right size individual though). Being you have a son, good choice sticking w/the 2+2 variant. I'm still partial to the 5th though, just can't buy one b/c i have too many cars now and it would have to replace my jeep, that does fairly well in the snow..lol. I think you'll be back too but good luck w/it.

5th Gen def rides better than a Mustang 5.0 but the Mustang has the much better look and performance.

band77one 03-01-2012 07:32 PM

GTFO

band77one 03-01-2012 07:33 PM

jk its a nice car good luck with it!

Thanks guys, I'm surprised I didn't get more ball busting especially from a bunch of Jersey guys/gals/guidos.

BigAls87Z28 03-01-2012 10:15 PM

Not a bad choice, the new 5.0 is a great power plant. I enjoyed my hour in one, was good.

NJ346 03-02-2012 06:38 PM

I saw you post something a tech a few days ago and noticed the 5.0 in the sig. Nice purchase. Not a fan of verts though.
