great story, wanted to pass it along, thought it was pretty cool

AWESOME story. It's hard to believe what LUCK this guy had to get that treatment from the entire plant. Thanks for the story. Our 3rd Gens are still a great overall design and as they get older they generate more and more interest as their numbers dwindle down on finding really nice original models.

Great story, makes me think of the old "Heartbeat of America" campaign, and the trucks built "Like a Rock". Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago

That is a great story

yeah i just dont understand why the 3rd gens are treated like the red headed step child of the f body family. I think they look the best

Give it time, 4th gens are starting to pick up the 3rd gen rap while good 3rd gens are getting more desirable.

The car was 'guilty by association' to dirtbags, mullets, tank tops (wife beaters), and 80's metal. It wasn't the cars fault. To me, the style is pure 80's...angular, square, big and unsophisticated. Been a fan forever. To me, all 80's cars have a place in my heart,,,maybe b/c i was a product of that generation...but only now are square cars coming back. Give me an 80's box caprice, el camino, '87 c10 single cab shortbed, or monte carlo ss and i'll be a happy camper. For good measure throw in an '86 daytona, fox body, and 200sx and watch me grin son.

91fbirddroptop: Give our cars time...they will rise in value. Most people drove them into the ground...some rotted and others went to the junkyard in the sky before their time. To me, and this is just my opinion, the tta's, recaros, vert, 91-92 model years, 1LE's, and daytonas will be the ones to bring the most money down the road but any taken car of 3rd gen will bring some value down the line if it was taken care of.

Pretty cool story....'85 Camaro was my first car, 3rd gens will always be my favorites :)

Looks like only 1 photo link.....these are the links in your post:

The first and last one seem to be links to a page of thumbnails, the [ img ] tag doesn't know what to do with that, so nothing shows.

damn thats dedication right there. good for him i doubt gm would do anything like that today

amargari 03-07-2012 05:23 PM

Give them time. I remember 20 years ago, my 73 Camaro was totally ignored by the Camaro community and now the 2nd gens are starting to get their due.
