Just scrapped one for $237.80 without the computer/cabinet. They used to buy them in NY but not anymore. It can't be used for a high performance dyno sadly.

wow. weren't they like $20k installed or some crazy thing like that? at least the ones installed in the floor.

Yeah, my old shop got one and that was the 1st thing i asked - dyno pulls lol.

so what good would they do anyone, put cars on it for drivability and part throttle tuning or something?

How?

chrisfrom nj 03-05-2012 08:18 AM

the machine has to be worth something not 20k at least a 1k its the complete computer not missing anything i dont know if the computer can be reprogramed and turned into a dyno

SilverDropTop 03-05-2012 08:30 AM

Like everyone else said...they're worth scrap value. I almost picked up a set of rollers for $100 but didn't have the room for them at the time. You won't be able to turn it into a dyno, but the rollers can be used for tuning purposes. Once my new garage is done, I'll be looking for another set.

It ain't like installing MS Office.

It will probably need brand new hardware to read all of the sensors on top of the actual software itself, which is priced at "Call for Quote" online... which in the industry means "a ****ton of money so we need to try to talk you into purchasing it".

Plus it's probably calibrated for a particular type of dyno setup, like roller weight, etc.

Try calling a dyno software place and see what they say.

BonzoHansen 03-05-2012 11:40 AM

Don't load Excel on the computer. you'll probabaly get a circular reference error.

LTb1ow 03-05-2012 11:46 AM

run that **** on dos

sweetbmxrider 03-05-2012 12:33 PM

The physical hard parts cannot handle more than like 100hp.
