Pilot bearing stuck
Well the tool i was hoping to use at work someone has out locked in one of there boxes so i have been trying anything i can get to pull this pilot bearing.
Anyone have any tricks ? |
|
We tried a form of this maybe Il try packing it some more to force it out.
|
got a welder?
|
Yeah, that will be the final resort. I left..... We have to the tool i need at our other dealer so going to grab it on the way.
Never had this much of an issue before on a pilot bearing |
Is it a bearing or a bushing?
|
doesn't the crank have a freeze plug in it? I thought the hydraulic/grease method could blow it out on our cars
I rented the blind hole puller from autozone to do mine, might pick one up to have around if I can find my $40 coupon for one: http://www.harborfreight.com/blind-h...ler-95987.html |
It's a needle bearing.
No idea about the freeze plug though. The tool was picked up this morning, I'm on my way to finish the job |
5 minutes with the right tool and it came out
trans is back in 8/ sigh |

The sigh is for how much time was wasted on the pilot bearing. I am very happy it is done
Just finished completely. . tick master adjustable is in, adjustable torque arm is in, clutch in and it grabs like a mother. |
