I Got The Bug (at Island Dragway)
 

After tinkering with my TA for over a year I finally brought it Island to see what it would run. This was the first time I ran a 1/4 mile by the way....I ran 14.10 at 98 mph with a 2.07 60'......I wasnt sure how the traction situation was going to be so I launched at 1200 RPM. I think if I am able to launch at maybe 1800 I should easily be able to get into the 13's which I'm totally happy with on a stock car with 103,000 miles. Was any NJFBOA'ers there today??
Cant wait to go back again and hopefully joint the 13 second club.

your bout avg for a stock LT1(judging by your sig thats waht you have) and i can hear the 10 bolt crying now :lol:

Auto, 3.23 Gears ,COld Air Intake, Gutted Cat, Street Tires

Low 14 is right about normal for you car. Especially being the first time.

Hey MIke, I only ran once. It started to rain just as I got my time slip. Judging by seeing other 60 foot times of similiar cars, I was pretty happy with mine, especially launching at 1200 or 1300 rpm. I would hope if I can launch more towarsd 1600 or 1700 maybe I'll get right at 2.00 60 foot..Ant Rice maybe I'll take a ride there Friday if your going to run..Is it usually busier there Fridays or Sundays????

And MIke, I've been researching too and I think my next purchase will be a converter

Sundays are way busier.

Congrats on the times, really nice job for you first time out.

They may have changed things up there, but I'm pretty sure you will only be able to compare timeslips - not actually race against each other (bikes separate from cars).

RT will come with practice, doesn't mean anything unless you are actually in competition anyway.

i thought island wasnt open this year?

I thought I'd do alot better. My good friend and his dad and brother all race NHRA so I grew up always playing on their practice tree. Its a little different when your heart is beating a million miles a minute.

Dont worry about RT unless your running brackets...

Ran an almost exact time in my Old 97z back in the late 90's @ Etown, think it was either stock or just a cai.
