Need a 2nd Gen volunteer
CTW Motorsports is looking for a 2nd gen owner who can volunteer his car for a few hours for a tire fitment session at our shop in Hillsborough.
By volunteer, I mean allow us to fit a few sets of wheels on your car, see if the fitment works & take pictures. I can offer some beer, our office with a big screen TV with bluray, and lunch as compensation. PM me if interested. Also - we are looking for a Monte SS/GN owner to do the same, if anyone has one, we want to fit that car also. Paul |
Ever consider doing wheels for a first gen CTS-V? The 6 lug pattern and large brembos limit our options under $2,500 a set.

I've got a GN as well and the 4th gens we spoke about...

The 04-07 CTS-V cars have the 6x115mm bolt pattern, which also match the STS-V and SRX from similar years. But the CTS-V calipers require the spokes to curve outward for clearance. Stock wheels are 18" and only the STS-V wheels are semi-useable in regards to other stock wheels that can fit. SRX wheels will bolt on but will not clean the calipers unless using at least a 2" spacer. Base 04-07 CTS and the 08+ CTS cars are 5 lug. I'd be happy with just a 17" or 18" steel rim 8" wide that would bolt on and clear the brakes to use as a spare. What us first generation CTS-V guys have to do is buy a factory stock 18" wheel to try to fit in the trunk as a spare since factory tires were runflats and a spare tire was never made or provided. |

I'm sure the stock calipers would clear the spokes on our wheels, but the wheel barrel may interfere with the outside of the caliper - need to do a test fitting to make sure. What are the BS requirements for the CTS-V? Also how big of a wheel can it fit width wise? |

The stock V wheels are 18x8.5 with a 42mm offset.(one site just said High positive offset) I've read that some people fit 20x10's but have to do fender rolling or they cut into their tires. It seems the safe bet is a 9.5" max width. But there MAY be trailing arm interference, which there are mods for though. stock rotors are 14" rear 14.4" front |
