WTB LS1 alternator
 

I am looking for an alternator for my ls1 SS camaro. Looking to buy asap

Have you heard of the Escalade upgrade? I went to a local salvage yard and found an Escalade alternator for $65. It was the right code (Forget what it was). There is a huuge thread on LS1 tech about it. No more blowing up alternators and more voltage! :)

I have not heard of this. I drive my ss very rarely, owned it almost 8 years, put about 15k miles on it and went through a few alternators. The last one that was installed had maybe 4k miles on it until now when it went again. I understand why the first one went, I had a leaky power steering pump which ruined the alternator, after that I replaced both the alternator and pump so I thought it was problem solved. I will now look into the swap that you are mentioning, thanks!
