My dad just sent me a message that my brother's power finally came back on in Yardley and the surge started a fire at the oil furnace! He wasn't home but a neighbor saw the fire starting and a firetruck was around the corner! He has water in the basement and damaged floor joists. So if your house still doesn't have power, it's probably a good idea to turn the heat down or turn it off and make sure the lights are turned off so it minimizes the hit when the power comes back on.

Yeah, PSEG email and letters say to turn off everything in the house except one light so you also don't overload the grid you're connected to once they restore power.
