Ive read they weigh anywhere from 17lb to 20lb lol

I may be wrong, but I believe that the 3rd Gen 16" GTA/ Trans Am Diamond Spoke wheel weighs in @ 16lb. It was the lightest wheel at that time. I remember putting them on in place of the standard 16" Formula wheel and it made a nice difference in the way the car rode.

you REALLY could tell a difference going between the two? Aside from maybe a tire difference, if you did then thats impressive.

If the wheel that came off was about 20 lbs, and the GTA wheel was 16 lbs, that's about a 4 lb difference in upsprung weight. The lighter wheel did seem to make the car react to bumps in the road less jaring.

oh cool. I inspected my hoosier DR's today and cord was starting to show, so I figured i'd give them another chance and bought another pair of them in the same size 275 40 17 and manged to cut a 1.39 60' on them

98tadriver 11-18-2012 12:45 PM

I meant to add, I was looking into the 3rd gen GTA wheels. they look pretty nice and weigh 16lbs each (repros probably weigh more)
