Cage questions

Where can I find a set of rules or specifications for a roll cage?
I have a 6 point MS cage and it's almost time to install it. I figure I might as well do it while my interior is still torn apart.

Car will not be running faster than 10.00 (more like 11's but we'll see what it does with nitrous). Does a 10.00 or slower car need the cage certified?

I already have the driveshaft loops, bellhousing shield, approved balancer and once I get the cage in I can install my 5 point harnesses.

NHRA rule book will have all the information you need. Hope this helps.

You have a bar, not a cage. Check the NHRA rule book for specs. You will not need a cert but it will have to pass tech. So you have to be clean.

Well it's a 10 point cage, I would like to use just the parts to make a 6 point bar though. Anything more is extra weight and not necessary for a street/strip car.

Thanks. I'll check the site.

Yea higher than a 6/8 point is needed sub 10.00 and there may be a mph with it, 135 maybe?

Cages are allowed a smaller diameter tube than roll bars so you might not be able to do this.

I was informed of this earlier. I have yet to measure the pipe but I have my fingers crossed.

Thanks for letting me know though!
