unmarked Accord?

Do the police use unmarked 4door Honda accords? I was driving back from my girls place in AC tonight, I had just gotten off the AC expressway at exit 31 onto rt73 north and i was behind two cars in the right lane all doing the speed limit. I was very aware of my surroundings and a car creeps up on us for a good few miles at prob just a hair over 55. He sits behind me for another couple of minutes then flashes me once with his high beams and then passes me casually. I notice a full instrument panel in the center console like what id expect to see in a cop car. I didnt notice any lights in the rear or in the rear window, no tint, and no uniform. Oh but the plate started with "UUU-." Am i just paranoid?

Theres a town called roseland up by me that has a gold honda accord as an unmarked police car

maroman88 12-27-2012 02:06 AM

he's right on both. I've seen wackers having a full tinted out impala full light bar in the windshield, grill lights, strobes, full sirens. if you didn't know it was a whacker fireman you'd think it was a cop car.

however in the future if you aren't sure it's a cop and you get pulled over and still it's a guy not in unifom be sure it's a police officer. there are a lot of crazies out there who try to imitate them.

They run a ford escape in a neighboring town by me so yes, anything is possible for them to attain the element of surprise.

lol...or the hangover. anyway lol dont gun it just dont pull over call the local pd and ask if its an actual police officer stopping you. if you keep going sooner or later a marked unit will show then you can be assured its a real stop.

this^ And do not speed off or try to lose them. That will end a lot worse, just drive normally. You don't want a call out claiming your a EDP.

grazi 12-27-2012 06:12 PM

I don't think I've ever seen a cop driving an import. I thought that was some kind of policy. Maybe I just never noticed though.

Losing an import would be no problem, but not even the fastest car on the planet can outrun the radio

grazi 12-29-2012 05:57 AM

Wait. An LS1 Camaro can't outrun a radio?

ive seen a nyc taxi cab with nypd officers inside with full blown lights except the light bar on the roof on a stop in the city.

L695speed 12-29-2012 08:14 PM

I've seen the DARE Monte, only when its been used at functions though. Never seen it in action. I've seen the run of the mill Camaros and Mustangs on Patrol, but there were two cars that caught me off guard, that I've seen. Both of them were pulling people over and had officers giving drivers the run down.

One was a jet black late model Mercury Marauder based on the last fullsize Grand Marquis. That I saw out in Kansas while at school.

More locally though I think it was still out of state (somewhere either in upstate NY or in New England) I saw an unmarked Pontiac GTO busting people.

Around the spring time, I got word that the Bass River State police barracks got a Corvette as an undercover car. Sure enough, next time I went up there, a co-worker saw it the night before, pulled someone over.

A while back i know you could tell nypd taxis by them either not having the rates posted on them or no T&LC shield mounted on the car. But that was years ago.

unstable bob gable 12-30-2012 02:25 PM

I saw an unmarked Charger on the Parkway with a big Yankee's "NY" logo in the back window. :)

Back in the day...1985 (yes I just admitted I was driving then) Pequannock Police Dept had a 1979 Gold Trans Am with a 400 Pontiac in it. How do I know you ask??? Got pulled over by him when I passed him in my 79 Firebird on RT 23. First question I asked was "what ya runnin???" The cop was a gear head so I was able to get out of the ticket.

zraffz 01-04-2013 10:05 PM

Last year their was a mini van with out of state plates that the troopers would use to go get food lmao. It was funny watching 5 or 6 troopers get out of it.
