So... Better late than never.

Yeah, I know it's not a chevy - Don't lynch me. Couldn't beat the deal I got on it, and the Colorado just wasn't working for what I needed to do with it.

looks like a 5.7l hemi badge.

i agree i like the color too, ram makes some sharp looking trucks

The_Bishop 04-23-2013 08:33 AM

Yeah, it's a 1500 Express. There used to be huge, blocky chrome RAM 1500 badges on the doors, I have since removed them - looks cleaner that way. 5.7 Hemi, rated at 395 HP / 407 lbs-ft of torque. Has the usual cam phasing, cylinder deactivation stuff. The mileage is pretty nice, right on par with what the Colorado used to get.

I spent a lot of time checking different trucks out, so far the Dodge is the best bang for the buck.

The coil spring/control arm rear suspension is damned impressive. Ride quality and handling is great, and none of that skipping around on the bumps stuff. Also no wheelhop.

LTb1ow 04-23-2013 08:48 AM

No rear spring packs? Thats interesting

Tow package? And or, whats the MPG hand calc?

The_Bishop 04-23-2013 08:58 AM

Yeah, tow package. Only thing it didn't come with is the integrated trailer brake controller, I'll add it later.

MPG has been 20-22 highway, 17-18 rural town driving with a light foot/cruise control. Hand calc and EVIC display are pretty close, enough to not matter much.

Here's a pic of the rear suspension:

Nice truck...good luck w/it. Hopefully, the new ones are better w/rust around the quarters than their predecessors. Dodge does make one of the nicest full size ones out there...now the new dakota on the other hand...ah

Lt1_8U 04-23-2013 04:27 PM

Great looking truck, good luck with it.

Featherburner 04-23-2013 06:50 PM

Congratulations! Good luck with your new ride. That mpg is pretty impressive.

madness410 04-23-2013 06:59 PM

very nice truck...good luck with it

The_Bishop 04-23-2013 07:33 PM

Thanks, folks.

LTb1ow 04-24-2013 07:42 AM

Bringing it to the next meet in May?

The_Bishop 04-24-2013 08:31 AM

Possibly - Need to check work schedule.

Wait, you mean the truck or the car?

WildBillyT 04-24-2013 08:33 AM

No, better never than late. I wish you the worst of luck with it.

Kidding of course. Truck looks great. I dig the rear setup with the Watts link.

The_Bishop 04-24-2013 08:37 AM

Thanks, WBT.

LTb1ow 04-24-2013 08:40 AM

The truck!

Who brings an fbod to a jeep club meet anyways.

The_Bishop 04-24-2013 02:33 PM

If I put that 'upside down' sticker on it do I get honorary jeep status?!

The_Bishop 04-24-2013 04:33 PM

Now, it all depends on the date. If it stays on the 11th I'm supposed to work unless I can swap shifts with someone.

townsend 04-24-2013 09:34 PM

nice truck! impressive rear suspension they are using. was actually thinking about why they didnt do something like that a while ago on most trucks.
