I know some of you don't care but let the haters hate. I went to DMV today and passed the test so i can now drive on public roads legaly!!!! So my mother had to get gas in the villager so i pumped it and switched seats and drove home. Going out in a few to drive around. Any advice about driving other then the norm?

-obey the rules.
-Always keep "a escape plan in mind". As in, in case bad things happen in front of you, whats the best action to take. Granted you'll gain experience and it will begin to sit in your head naturally.
-Give plenty of room for everyone. Cars, trucks and motorcycles. Most people will be in the wrong lanes and will usually want to take the exit thats right in front of you so anticipate that.

zraffz 06-03-2013 07:10 PM

Congratulations... I read your post and saw your join date and scratched me head for a few minutes lmao.

Don't text and drive, wear your seatbelt and don't go flexing your muscles with your 190hp 305 IROC :p

zraffz 06-03-2013 07:11 PM

Oh and in all seriousness always try to look as far ahead as you can. Hardest thing to get used to when I got my CDL because of longer stopping times/crappier steering; it defiantly helps in a non commercial vehicle as well though.

drafting has been proven to increase mpg .... just sayin'

BonzoHansen 06-03-2013 07:13 PM

jump open bridges. it never fails

Yea i'v been here for a while with out a license but had the Z28 as a first car. I don't have a phone so i'm good on that and seat belts will stay on. I'm gonna flex those muscles in the Z28 4/11 gears...

100% true..always know whats around you. Let the other people do the stupid crap and drive crazy..you'll see insurance costs matter in the long run and its the worst $ spent on paying high premiums for stupidity.

band77one 06-04-2013 09:45 AM

make sure your middle finger gets lots of exercise so it doesnt cramp while flipping off idiot drivers!

NastyEllEssWon 06-04-2013 10:10 AM

also heres a lesson i learned the hard way...

Warn your friends that T-Top handles are not for grabbing on while the car is in motion and they are definitely not Oh Shhhhht Handles

Avoid PA drivers at all cost. If you see a car anywhere near you with PA tags, just pull over and wait a few. If said PA driver happens to be an asian women in a minivan, thats like the trifecta... pull over, shut off the car for like 10 minutes minimum, and just pray for the best. Its all we can do... its a crazy world out there living so close to Philly.
