Trans mount
 

Pretty positive mine is broke. Need something that's stronger this is the 2nd time it's broke on me. Not sure where to get one from. Any info is appreciated!

Summit. Energy Suspension makes a correct one for 4th gen Camaros and Firebirds. You can buy a universal one and it will work, but there's a "perfect fit" one that's better.

Thanks! I also read if I went with the better polyeurathane mounts it could ruin my motor mounts?

If that was the case then my motor should have been ripped loose years ago.

Haha alright. How much do they cost ? No more than $50 right?

I think they are 20 bucks, I got a universal one from advanced auto, but I am solid motor mounts so noise is for teh lulz

I ran the energy suspension motor mounts and trans mounts when I was bolt-ons, and the vibration was nothing near what ^ was describing in that thread. I think a lot of unwanted vibration originates from how rough the motor currently runs. There is also the subjective tolerance of the driver plus the scope of change - example, going to poly mounts from completely broken stock mounts will be very noticeable in comparison to the same change from good condition stockers.

There is also a break in period for the poly mounts where they will settle down over time. If you're breaking stock mounts, you have 4 options

1. Get another stock mount which may break
2. Get poly mounts, deal with more vibration for the performance
3. Get used poly mounts, which will perform somewhere between new rigidity and stock vibration.
4. Find your balls, return them to your sac, then get solid mounts :lol:


If OP is really breaking NEW rubber trans mounts, then the motor mounts are likely causing the issue, and they should be replaced. IMO, you should NOT get a poly trans mount with stock motor mounts because it puts more torsion on the trans case when the motor mounts should be absorbing it.
