Saw this a few days ago and it looks promising. Getting the most intensity out of a point source of light is the name of the game. If you compare two light sources with equal intensity, but one produces it with a smaller footprint, your efficiency goes up. This reminds me a bit of plasma lighting.

Nope. A plasma bulb does not need metal electrodes to drive power into the source and therefore has a more robust quartz vessel eliminating early failure and lumen degradation.

You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks Camaros with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads bumpers! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that cannot be done. Ah, would you remind me what I pay you people for, honestly?
