Digging through old threads on LS1TECH

I forgot I made this thread, and it is a reminder to how I handle driving today...

My 94 formula that I crashed. Fell asleep while driving to car tech school :( I was working too many hours and driving 26 miles one way to school 5 days a week. I hit the back of a tractor trailer at about 40mph in the rain. He took 0 damage and my car took this. I was lucky that day to be alive.

It was a blessing in disguise, because I found my current 96WS6 on ebay a week or so later :) . I believe I sold the car wrecked like that for $2500 with a blown t56. I bought the car for $4500, so it wasn't a "total loss"

This changed me for life. now if I start to nod off I will either call someone to talk or pull over somewhere and try to take a nap or grab some kind of drink. It used to only happen to me in the morning. I can drive all night but if I sleep for like 1 hour then try to drive forget about it...

Bonus 92 voyager and 79 toronado in the background. That toronado was a sex machine. Red valor interior with a 350 FWD. I had 4 studded snow tires on it and plowed through snow while trucks and stuff were stuck!!! lol

Yikes...

Yeah it was not a fun experience. Thankfully I wore a seat belt. I literally had no damage to myself. Car ran fine after that too

That's pretty amazing you weren't hurt.

I think I got you beat, but that's neither here nor there. Glad you're okay. Long commutes suck (although, 26 miles sounds spectacular if you asked me today )

I wish I had a 26 mile commute.

I think the Tornado being a sex machine was more scary than the crash. lol
