Mad max: 3 days and counting!!!!

Needless to say I've been waiting 30 years for this!!!
MAD MAX IS BACK!!! Fury Road 5.15.15

unstable bob gable 05-15-2015 09:41 AM

Sooooo, no other motorheads besides me are thrilled that one of the greatest automotive action movie franchises is back? Ok, go back to your sewing circles, and God help us all!!!!!

I was looking forward to it until I heard the line in the commercial that he says he is looking for a noble cause. Mad Max was a bad ass out on his own just looking out for himself and trying not to get f'ed with. He wasn't a soldier fo fortune or seeking any higher purpose in the original movies. He just tore up anyone that dared come after him with the help of whomever came to his aid.

Generic, modern, Hollywood plot devices just don't mix with classic movie franchises.

Case in point: Max Max, Beyond Thunderdome...

Two men enter, one man leaves, LOL

The one that most irks me is and probably always will be Gone in 60 Seconds. The remake had absolutely nothing to do with the original beyond a list of cars to steal. The original was all about an insurance scheme and arguably the greatest car chase in movie history, the remake was a generic action-romance with a paper thin plot.

I'll probably go see it with friends.

Don't be so quick to judge it.

From what I gather, the movie starts with his at feral lost his mind status and he comes back to civilized status through whatever plot they used. Hell, one could argue he took on a cause in the horrid thunderdome movie...

In the second one he agrees to take on the noble cause, why would this be any different?

The bad guy is played by the same actor as in the first, pretty cool. I am excited for another barbaric vehicular extravaganza.

Definitely planning to see it this weekend!

I heard it's bad ass, just don't have time to go see it. You can tell by my avatar how I feel...

Max is a total bad ass in this movie. And the movie is MIND BLOWING!!! Next for me will be Mad Max Fury Road in 3D.

lol wait people actually like this franchise? I saw this pile of trash growing up and it was horrendous. I dont expect the reboot to be any better. Sorry but you cant get me excited for a Mel Gibson reboot. LOL

edit: hate to be so blunt but out of all of Mel Gibson's movies Ive always thought these were the worst

Turn in your "car guy" card immediately.

Everyone has the right to their opinion. Of the original 3 I'll put The Road Warrior up against anything for action flick bragging rights, especially for that era (early 80s)

I saw the trailer for it today...the fact that Mel Gibson isnt in it is actually pretty reassuring. You gotta admit that the original ones are BAD as far as movies go though :D

Its funny though, I love cars, but Ive never been a ''car guy'' movie type of guy. I like comedies. Fast N Furious, Cannonball Run, Smokey N Bandit, Mad Max....none of them ever really did anything for me. Go figure.

I know the original Road Warrior movie is pretty BAD ASS!!!!

Saw it in 3D tonight and it was AWESOME!
Lots of practical effects and a good story line was awesome. I have to say that Charlize Theron stole the whole movie!
The visuals were intense and there is nonstop action but it isn't too much. I honestly thought that Tom Hardy's Max was pretty good but he didn't say much all movie. If I had a gripe, it would be with the lack of Max. He's there and does things, but he doesn't feel like the main character.

Really great movie that was intense from start to finish. Great movie!

Now THAT'S a great movie review! I read that Max was written as a man of few words for most of the story to show his tortured, distant side. By showing his flashbacks and having him mutter to himself I think it made up for his lack of speech, and his actions def spoke for themselves!!!
