ubg in South Jersey today...
ubg is getting some work done at the legendary Mufflex in South Jersey today. First time in about 20 years I've been down south here at Mufflex in Trenton.
|
Huh, I was unaware that Mufflex had a satellite location in South Jersey. I only know about their Central Jersey location in Hamilton. Oh and by the way, Mufflex SUCKS!!!

But seriously folks, where is the place to go for custom exhaust work if Mufflex is a no no to youse guys? |
Mufflex has always done decent work for me. I'm not sure I would go there for any kind of show piece or high end work. Street car and truck stuff was fine

Well was finished up at noon at Mufflex. Denny and Chris did a bang up job, especially in fitting my weirdo Power Effects muffler and resonator tip. My drive home put a huge smile on my face. Car acts like I added more boost or a bigger turbo. Sounds awesome and you can really hear the turbo spool up now. And price was very reasonable. So once again I'm pleased with Mufflex. :)

My Formula has been to Mufflex twice (once for a Flowmaster in 1998, and again for a Spintech in 2002).
They did great for me both times and the price is reasonable. The Flowmaster only lasted 4 years (not Mufflex's fault), the Spintech seems to be holding up much better as it's still on my car. I consider it "Central" Jersey! :) |
My cousin used to own a 67 RS/SS Camaro and took it to Mufflex for a custom 2.5" dual exhaust. He had to take it back twice because the pipes rattled worse than a can of rocks. Eventually they corrected the problem. Fast forward two months, he was out for a cruise and he got a flat. He went to the trunk and pulled the jack, jacked up the car, pulled the flat off and went to get the spare out of the trunk. He tugged and pulled and no matter what he did he couldn't get the spare out. Well, it turns out Mufflex while hanging the exhaust put 2 self tapping lag bolts right through the trunk floor and right into the sidewall of the spare. Mufflex refused to take credit and wouldn't cover his tow or the cost of a new tire. That alone has kept me from ever doing business with them but I have other stories that would cement the deal too.
