What can you guys tell me about the gopro hero 4 ?

I know some of you guys have gopro's do figured this would be a good place to ask. Iv got an opertunity to get a gopro hero 4 black. I can get it thru the reward store at my job for free. What can you guys tell me about them? Would it be worth getting ?

They are cool cameras. I don't really use mine enough to justify the cost of getting the latest and greatest. If you are going to use it on adventures get one. If you just want it for driving you can get a better camera at half the cost and also use it as a dash cam.

Can you computer handle 4k editing?

yes.

They are very capable cameras. Better if you mix the footage with other cameras. A very good memory card is a must, research before you get one. Could always flip it for a few hundred bucks in your pocket :)

I have a few GoPros and the latest version I have is a 4 Silver. It's considerably better than my 3 Black. My only issue is battery life so I carry a few extra with a charger if I will be out for the day.

They are a lot of fun and very versatile.

lol i am doing my research hense making this thread ;)

so for free this thing could be worth getting to play around with ? and worse case i find i have no use for it then sell.

sweetbmxrider 03-24-2016 11:43 AM

Def worth playing with. Would sell for 3+ no problem. Research MEMORY CARDS is what I inferred :)

If you get that Go Pro and wanna get rid of it asap I'll give you $200 for it quick sale. As long as it's still brand new in the box with all the paperwork :D

i have a hero silver and its awesome. ive made some cool videos.

they are so versatile you could buy any type of mount to put them anywhere. i have one that could suction to the side of the car, i have a headband one so whatever i see the camera picks up.i plan on getting a harness so i could put it on my dog lol. they have water proof cases so you could put them in water. ive done videos driving the trans am.

theres a cool app that it comes with too so you can virtually control the go pro as long as you are within wifi distance of it. so you could mount it on your head and see what the camera picks up on your phone in the app.

i got it as a gift but i heard it was like $350. its very cool but is very pricey. if you could get it for free i'd highly recommend it youd have alot of fun.

Sounds like a good time lapse opportunity. Get the sun rising/setting in the shot ;).

what memory cards are you guys using ? whats your thoughts on the sandusk ultra plus 64gb cards ? or is there a better option ?

Blackbirdws6 03-25-2016 03:37 PM

Follow this link and pick you preferred card. http://gopro.com/help/articles/Block...Considerations

Look for speed of writing, not so much total capacity.

6spdg37s 03-25-2016 08:59 PM

I found a really good comparison between speeds and ratings let me see if i can find it...
