Power Ads for a 1994 25th Anniversary Trans Am GT I may buy!

I need some insight into a motor I am not familiar with. I am looking into a rare and original:arrow: 1994 25th Anniversary Trans Am GT with a LT1 and a 6-speed trans. There was only 2,000 of these made and only 110 had this trans.

My questions are what does any of these add-ons do to improve the performance.
1. Throttle Body Air Foil
2. K & N Series 57 Fresh Air Intake ($233.00)
3. Is the stock shifter smooth enough or was the Hurst unit better
4. It has a BORLA system already:nod:
5. Install the shift plug that replaces the 1-4 upshift (under 15 mph)

I want this to replace my 1991 Formula and have a rare and original Trans Am that I can still take to shows, but have a little extra balls. You guys are the expert in this area and thanks for any advice!

Nothing in that list will do much, but you really can't do much to the car if you keep it OEM stock.

Should be a noticeable jump from the '91 though.

5 is pretty useful. Maybe a better shifter too.

Thanks guys, I will be keeping it mostly stock, but I love to do stuff that doesn't really take away from OEM look. I know that most of the items by themselves will not do much, but add them all together and it might kick it up a little.:grampsch:

Cool, I had same car but automatic and t tops. Biggest improvement I did was gutting catalytic converter.

What was the SLP CAI and the SLP LM1. Was that cold air induction and loud mouth one? What did the SLP CAI look like as to the K & N Series 57 system?

DirtyBird 08-27-2016 09:53 PM

Headers, 1.6 rockers, 58mm tb, tb coolant byepass delete, cai, with a tune and you should have a solid low 13 or high high 12 second ride. What my car was

Do a image search. The k&n cai is one big plastic tube, while the slp intake uses two metal tubes.

The lm1 is a catback ... a very loud one.

5 is very helpful for driveability as Bill mentioned. Intake will do a little, exhaust a bit more but nothing wild. I'm sure you are aware of the potential and costly optispark issues correct?

Btw, stock shifter was fine in the car but the Hurst is noticeable better. I'd probably sell my Hurst plus with Lou's short stick for a song since I've switched shifters.

I agree with the shifter and the skip shift. The other stuff isn't really worthwhile money wise but they are easy to do and will occupy your time if you are looking for some simple satisfaction.

Nice choice Ed. I had an automatic 25th back in da day. :)

I would look for a 30th anny or a Firehawk... but that's just me.

Ed, would you be interested in a 2002 CETA Vert? Garage kept, show winner. All original except for plug wires and tires. Low mileage.

What's a CETA? I would want only a hardtop with a 6-speed. Any picture? Thanks, ED

They are just out of my price range. This 25th edition is just rare enough, that it's hard to find ANY 4gens on the road, much less one where they only made 2,000 of them.

Let me see if it's still available. It is an auto trans.

redsoxsstink 08-29-2016 10:14 PM

was the 91 totaled by insurance?

the skip shift is a must and I really dislike the stock shifters so I would be putting on a mgw or hurst

I really don't mind my Pro5.0... but hear really good things about the MGW.
