Ocean City Maryland Car Cruise
Is anyone going to the Ocean City Maryland Car Cruise May 18-21?
http://ococean.com/events/cruisin-ocean-city If so where do you plan to hang out? Thanks Craig |
I will be there Thursday to sunday with the 71 . probably going to spend most of the time hanging at the wawa or hotel and just watching the cars. Saturday is the ls1tech meet at roses. I normally see MD_sheds cars there
|
The Sheds fleet will be down there Weds night - Sun. I'll be at Roses for the tech meet and the meet at Carribas on Rt 50 Sat. We hang out on 127th at the holiday inn and watch the cars.

I'll be going down on saturday

Was absolutely awesome, I was able to find Ocean City Mexico and saw some badass cars street racing as well. They seemed to get a handle on the cars taking over 120th Wawa but that just made everyone go to Walmart on rt 50. Walmart was packed until at least 4am with every type of car you can think of.

We need to get a thread going for the Fall weekend, I'm definitely in for that one.

We are planning to be there as well. Never been to the Fall cruise but heard the traffic is a lot better.

Eventually these weekends are going to be killed by the stuff going on away from the actual event. All the nonsense in the streets will eventually doom it, because people won't wisen up. Unless they write enough tickets to chase the behavior away. You cant have a good event and 'badass cars street racing' at the same time. Something will have to give. I've seen enough pics and vids online to know the powers that be will eventually stomp on it. |

Spoke to locals while I was down there this weekend. Feelings were mixed, but leaned towards embracing it. The biggest gripes weren't the activities, but the traffic and the crowd. The consensus was that car guys are usually weird and not the most fun crowd, and that a 10 minute drive to work/eat can easily become a 45-minute nightmare, due to Cruise Week. On the flip side of the coin, they loved the revenue it generated and one person said they took advantage of the opportunity to get a few good races in while the tourists were in town--this was a female, BTW. |

But not a lot of fun! Car guys are the most fun people I know! I gues it depends what you consider fun. |
Don't shoot the messenger

|
So....jeeps and vettes ftw!!!!
|
They must been desperately seeking to not be re-elected. Thats bonkers to cut off revenue.

Just blame all the **** boys with their stanced out, stretched tire, less-contact-patch-than-my-bicycle lame **** blowing up on the street, cutting people off, hitting others, etc.
It's funny, they even posted a pic of an old mustang that went off the road trying to say "OH ITS NOT JUST US"... meanwhile it turned out that the drivers tie-rod end broke and the car went to the left off the road lol. H2Oi is a cancerous car meet that should die, but not every event should suffer because of those clowns |
I'm no ricer, nor do I understand the "stanced era" but they are car enthusiast of some sort and they put a mass amount of money into the pockets of the tracks we race at, which is keeping them open. So I can't hate on them altogether. There are ******** in every group of people... I'm sure there are a few that get out of control and draw attention to themselves, cause issues ect. I'm 33 and all about having a good time and burnouts but I'll be the 1st to say what goes on down there is way outta control during cruiseweek. Couple burnouts has turned in donuts, 4 wide linelock burnouts, 2 block long burnouts and guys grabbing 2nd 3rd gear while family's are walking on the sidewalks. It's amazing more people haven't been hurt or killed. I no way think it should end but it definitely needs to be controlled better. Put a cop on every other corner like they do at night and it will slow everyone down. Also make the tickets higher. I paid $150 to do a linelock burnout in front of Wawa. Make that $500 I would have thought twice. Again not standing up for the H2O guys but the fault is on both party's

I went down for cruise week for the first time in May. It was an absolute mad house and the place was littered with cops. Full blown drag cars with slicks, wheelie bars, and parachutes cruising up and down the strip. Can't say I'm surprised that they want to end it
