has anyone else noticed...
the lack of activity at the other place? i only sign in about once a week now, and only 3 new posts in a week? so much for the resurgence.
even in something as abstract as a website, the 'customer' experience is everything. would you rather read post after post of "my way or the highway" or hang out in a cool, laid back environment? i think the latter wins out everytime.
the same can be said for a store-front business. i use to know some people that owned (past tense) a convenience store. now, typically, all you need to make a convenience store successful is, well, convenience. if it's on the customer's way to work, they'll stop in for a cup of coffee and a newspaper, or something along those lines. a lot can be said for product quality and price of service, but that's another subject. anyway, this guy (and his wife, eventually) was a non-stop complainer. he complained about the prices of all of his products, about how hard it is to make a living, about so-and-so and their store and how the majors are putting a hurting on his store. well, to be honest, he drove his customers away. who the hell wants to hear a store owner cry relentlessly about his business, which you are there to help with when you are buying stuff from him? day after day, it never changed. not even the pitch of his voice changed.
ok, enough soap boxing. i just thought it was interesting that the new competition supposedly sparked some new energy in the old site and there was going to be some new changes made that would affect where people hung out. :roll:
