i don't get the naming cars thing.
as far as i am concerned they are cars, take care of them as best you can and enjoy them, but it ain't a dog, it doesn't need a name.

Hmmm.... something sexy but strong and powerful too. Try "Lexi" of just plan "Lex" :-)

arc555 10-18-2004 07:51 PM

I call her Laura. No real meaning behind it. It just sounds smooth, like the body lines.

Little G 10-18-2004 08:00 PM

My baby's name is Virginia.

i don't name my cars, but i believe they have certain personalities. for instance, my celica was a fun little car. My camaro has a sleek and mean personality to it. the pimpmobile lincoln has a laid-back, go with the flow attitude.

the celica and the camaro loved to be driven hard. I don't think the lincoln will like that as much.

if i were to think of a female name thats sexy and powerful........i'd look to history.....
I'd say Cleopatra is the perfect name that has both traits. Other names like Victoria and Elisabeth are the next closest i think, but lack the comprehensiveness of Cleopatra.

Sorry if they're lame, but i dont have any expierence at car names......unless they are called General Lee or The Mistery Machine......or of course the awsome A-Team van

Giana!! Stripper name? I love that name. If I have a daughter, thats top of the list.

as far as a name for a car.....no idea. Between my dad and I, we cant come up with a name. I just call her "Baby".
GF doesnt like that too much...but the car was there before she was.

SpeakersGoBoom 10-19-2004 08:27 AM

I told you what you need to do. Sit in the car. Talk to it. You wont really get to know the car well until you drive it. Then you find out its likes and dislikes. Shelly "my car" doesnt really like to go fast, and refuses to go over 100, but she LOVES turns, and she really likes going for drives in the rain. A name will come to you and your car will either agree or disagree. Both the TA and me came to agree on "Shelly." Very all american sounding, kinda cute, but at the same time willing to work.

Just read the signature you cant spell camaro

But car names have never been my thing at all none of my 3 camaros had a name and i dont think F**ker or Piece of ***** would be considered names that I call my cars all the time.

SpeakersGoBoom 10-19-2004 11:18 AM

I'm gettin better at it! When i was a LOT younger, I thought it was Kamero. Of course, that was back when I thought that it was Radeo and Speeker

SpeakersGoBoom 10-19-2004 11:36 AM

And a couple people have yelled at me about the way i spell Camaro

SpeakersGoBoom 10-19-2004 11:37 AM

Camaro.

IROCZBeast 10-19-2004 02:35 PM

my car will be named Julie

julie was a girl who i was after for about a year and a half and no matter how hard i tried to get her she never gave in

and my car like julie i will probably spend forever trying to get it up to my standards but i probably never will for a very long time

I think that it's cool that you have asked for suggestions, but don't decide on anything until you have a chance to get behind the wheel for an afternoon and just cruise. That's the only way you can get a feel for the car.

my ss has many names.. piece of ****, Super-**** and others that would not be appropriate to list in a public forum, but mainly i just call it "the ss" which complicates things a little now that i have a 87 monte ss, and it was really bad when i had the 84 monte ss as well, boy did i confuse my frends. ok enough rambling, but back to my point... i never named any of my cars because they are inanimate objects, i dunno maybe its just me but you cant get attached to a car, trust me i know, ive had some nice ones i wouldnt mind still owning but you gotta move on.. ok now that i read what i typed it makes no real sense..oh well. btw my monte took its first "steps" today, out of my garage under its own power then in reverse back in. lol. i can almost get it out of my garage on move onto a new project.

Fasterthanyou 10-19-2004 10:09 PM

My RS camaro used to go as; Really Slow, Ramming Speed, Real Shi**y, Runs Sometimes, but after getting into the 13's and driving the car ALL THE TIME it's upgraded to Red Sled. Only problem with the name is that my hood is black and the paint is coming off the front bumper  .
Names need to be technical and funny, not personified. Do you call your pets human names? I don't think so. Dog's name is Dave, or Bill, lol. Dave, come here boy... BAD DAVE, BAD!

SpeakersGoBoom 10-20-2004 09:17 AM

She had a piug named toby...and my mom had a dog named katie
