Applebees, The Aftermath

NICE BURNOUT JON!!!! The smoke lingered so nicely :burnout:  :omg:

While 3 of us isn't exactly a mob scene, it certainly beat zero, and at least you guys got to check out the place I suggested for a future Fbody.org gathering.

Now about that guy with the, um, 'Grand Am.' Yeah, that thing was butt ugly  But, on the bright side, if there was one, he sure had one heck of a system in that thing. Too bad it was butt ugly though.

JPiZZiJP looks like we done just missed getting nailed by the Edison boys in blue. Right after I jumped off on to the Rt 1 South exit from 287, one of the boys rolled up alongside me. Didn't do anything, but if he'd arrived a few seconds earlier, he'd have gotten the WHOLE show on Rt 1 North. Oh, and the reason I dropped back from you on the ramp to Rt 287, was that your car was dumping major amounts of fuel out of the Filler Neck of the Gas Tank.

All in all, a good meeting.

Um, the sightseeing was quite good at Applebees too

Ben,

Yeah it was nice meeting up... the gas... oh boy let me tell you I am pissed about that.

So when my friend replaced my clutch, it sat at the Vo-Tech school overnight and apparently (I just found out today) someone STOLE my frickin gas cap. I started smelling gas and I was like WTF.

What is this world coming to when one's gas cap isn't even safe anymore? :(

PS Sorry if any got onto the Trans Am :(

JPiZZiJP 11-20-2004 02:12 AM

PPS I KNOW that someone stole it because it was one of those caps that are permanently attached to the car by a plastic wire... so someone either had to cut or YANK really hard to get it off.

Joe, no gas got on my T/A. As soon as I saw something spilling from your car, I dropped way back. I also made sure that I straddled the stream of it that was on the ramp, so the tires didn't catch any of what was on the pavement. It does stink though that some low-life would stoop to stealing a $5.00-$10.00 Gas Cap. But, if you think that's bad, some little urchin stole my Chrome Valve Caps years ago. The darn things cost a whole $2.49 a package. If the little monster needed them that badly, I'd have gone in my Garage, and given him a set.

Yeah, that brand of tires you have, smoke very nicely. Kinda reminds me of the old Belted T/A's I had on my T/A years ago. They weren't radials, so the handling suffered, but oh did those things produce huge amounts of smoke when you spun them. I still have memories of my friend's neighbor attempting to get my License Plate number, as he was being enveloped in tire smoke Â*

I don't know if you'd call what Joe and I did 'going for it', but we certainly got the attention of the northbound Rt 1 Traffic, especially that clown in the black Pick-Up that wandered in front of me, as I was coming up on him nearly full bore. I sort of did a left-handed Whatusi around him Â*

If I were the Cops, I'd of bothered the owner of that 'Ant-Eater-That-Ate-Tokyo' thing, just on the grounds of ugliness alone Â*:clown:

I'm sure that if we set this up properly, like by making sure we have a handle on how many people to expect, and arrange it with Applebees, we'll be fine. Like I said, if we're paying customers at the Restaurant, and we're not creating a nuisance, no one will bother us. Besides, none of us have anything as butt ugly as that THING

bencar 11-21-2004 11:00 PM

Oh, and one board member questioned my tendency to use bold print. No insult intended, it's just easier for me to proof read

JPiZZiJP 11-22-2004 07:28 AM

FYI, new gas cap is on the car. No more gas spillage.

After driving 1 full tank with no gas cap, between spillage and evaporation, I lost about 100 miles worth (or $10 worth) in fuel.

What a shame.
