2 new mustangs at island on sunday

i saw one silver GT that looked like the guy swipped the nose of the thing against a guard rail...and it still had a temp plate on it...

and then i saw the race of the century...a new mustang gt (auto) vs a new gto (also auto) ....the gto won to say the least....

then that same mustang ran next to my friends 55 chevy...the mustang ran a 14.3@95.....while my friend blew by him with a 13.5@99

Lexi's dad said something about a hell of a lot of people cancelling their orders for the new mustang...something like because it had a taurus front suspension or something. Anyone heard of that?

BigAls87Z28 11-22-2004 10:58 PM

Err...well, it has a strut front end, that could be liek the Taurus. I think they are cancling there orders because people thought they were fast.

Anyway, I have yet to see one on the street. I thought that these car would be so popular, that I would be waist deep in them at every stop light. Oh well.

i heard a lot of orders were cancelled after it was leaked that the engines were weak and would break down after 10,000 miles or so. i forget what the problem was exactly, but i think some of the Ford GT's had the same problem.

the ford GT and the new stang have nothing in common really, and if motors went after 10k and ford didnt do anything about it they would be in deeper **** with warranty work

SOME of the Ford GTs?! I didnt know they were going to mass produce the car. i thought it was supposed to be ford's ferrari, costing well over 100k. NONE of them should have a problem like that.

Tru2Chevy 11-22-2004 11:21 PM

I don't remember the exact problem, but they stopped production on the mustangs for several weeks while they were correcting it. I remember reading about it (I thought it was on this board), but I'm too tired to search now.
