lots of racing and travel this coming year.

i was looking over teh major racing schedules for the coming year and i started thinking about what an expensive hobby this is to see live, especially once you account for all the travel.
this year i will definately see:

24 Hours of Daytona
NHRA @ E-town
NHRA @ Maple Grove
United States Grand Prix
Ever Friday At New Egypt Speedway (my buddy randy yaple just got a sportsman)

this year i will race at:

every gm efi race at e-town
every f-body vs whatever event i can get to
some of the big bucks footbrake races at atco
the night before the pump gas drags(hopefully the pump gas contest too)

and all this is on top of whatever events teh club comes up with and the race we are planning for august(i doubt i will have time to race at our event, any volunteers to run a 9 second 3rd gen? :D)

i better get off my ass and get a second job asap. i will be broke for the rest of forever by the time i am done 1 racing season. lol

later

You actually gonna stop by once in a while since you're like 2 minutes away?

Oh wait, dumb question ;)

NJSPEEDER 12-08-2004 07:47 PM

lol...that will depend a lot on what kind of night we have at the track prolly. he is a rookie so i am sure we are gonna take some rough trips down there until he gets up to speed.

I didn't even see this the first time. :raises hand:...I'm lighter than most, if not all, of you, so I could get the car to go even faster ;)

Ian 12-08-2004 09:26 PM

I was the first to volunteer to work on it, plus I weigh 140. I get to drive!8)

I weight 115 - 120...that 20 - 25 pounds makes all the difference ;)

j0n 12-08-2004 09:39 PM

.02 - .025 seconds

SpeakersGoBoom 12-08-2004 09:41 PM

the question is not neccisarily about the weight that comes with the driver. its the balls that come with the driver. I've heard more than a few people say "The cars a 10 second car, but I'm not a ten second driver."

that has nothing to do with "the balls" a driver has...its the skill the driver has...aka if u put me into a solid mid-11 second car i would probably turn 12.3-12.5 timeslips all day long if i was lucky...cuz im not an excellent driver

89 Trans Am WS6 12-08-2004 10:04 PM

id rather see this 9 second third gen first ;x

Sorry Ian, I was with Tim when he found the car, and I've been helping him with it (including picking up the LS1) from the beginning...

So you're already assuming you'll have a running F-body next year!

V 12-11-2004 05:34 PM

i'm doing a 422 ci stroker on a 6.0L iron block, est 600 hp N/A then an ati 10psi 1dsc system with twin aftercoolers on top of that. ford 9" rear, all tubular front suspension components. final race weight i'm not sure of yet. est rwhp in the range of a solid 650-700

thats good for 9s?

10.83 @ 125.82 according to Prestage.com, but not sure how accurate that is.

According to their calculators, Little G is putting 230 hp to the wheels, with very few actual power mods. Although I guess anything is possible.

NJSPEEDER 12-12-2004 11:17 PM

if i trap above 125 and only run a 10.8 i will cry. lol
looks like some recent financial decisions will leave teh car a little bit lighter than earlier estimates too :)
