i dont come on to the board to often and make maybe one post a week and every time, i get somebody to go learn how to punctuate your sentenses. ok i get it im not good at writing give me a break. i dont want to hear it again because i know and its getting a little old. besides plenty of you booble heads make mistakes too

they they yelled at you for grammer too? haha they yelled at me for that too. more for shortcuts like wud and cud and 2 etc. haha they wudnt lay off either. i cant help it. i just type that way...

Relax Phil, it's not the end of the world that people comment on puncutation. At the same time it becomes difficult to read something when there are no break points. And for transamchick, it becomes difficult to read whn u tke out sum or all ltters, or abbreviate werds or spell them wrong. Remember, the primary mode of communication is text...in order for your point to get across, it has to be readable. It doesn't have to be perfect. NO one is EVER perfect (save me of course... :j/k:). But readable works. ;)

i had no problem reading that line tho... i had a hard time learning to read when i was a kid. i payed too much attention. so to get me to read faster. i would read pieces of the words. not the whole word. i still dont read very fast but a lot better then i used to. ive tried working on spelling everything out but since i read faster i expect myself to type faster. i dunno im just weird...

I can read what you type when you take shortcuts, but it takes longer. And I"m not saying this because *I* am inconvienced. Something you'll realize after HS is that you'll do a lot of conversing through text, whether it's papers, emails, memos, professional letters, IMs, etc...you can't take the short cuts in those (well, as far as the professional stuff goes). It's better to quit the habit now than to try in 2 years or 10 when you're in a professinoal position.

I'm not trying to say this in a "higher than thou" attitude. I'm saying it in a "Been there done that" attitude. It takes a lot of effort to curtail it. But you know what, you read as though you are more intelligent when you type "normally" than if you took short cuts. If I didn't know you were 16, I would think you were at least 18, if not older, by the way you type (when you type it out).

yea i kno wat u mean. its wierd tho when i havta type a paper i cant write in shortcuts. not sure y... but only typing like here or ims or txts or somehting. ive been trying to work on it... i mean htat and work on how fast i type too. anway at least u didnt totally make fun of me for it. a lot of guyz were just crackin on me about it and wouldnt give me a chance to try to adjust it. i am trying. but its not easy. i go back and edit a lot of my posts now.

No need to go back and edit. Never has to be perfect. I dn't think any of my posts have ever been perfect...yet I'm a perfectionist when it comes to typing/writnig papers etc. :shrug:

haha see u were cool about it. other people on the other hand... *cough* Alex *cough* pat *cough* (ok theres too many to list) *cough* didnt have any patience with me at all even after i said i would try to fix it.

perhaps.....instead of worrying that people think you cant spell, gramatize *if thats a word*, etc. ... You should ask them if their inability to read the posts has somthing to do with their ability to read.

i am in no way trying to start anything, and when i have made fun of grammer it has been 100% in jest... and when i am doing that i would enjoy the return...

just tryin to throw around a lighter point of view :wink:

heh i did think of that... but i was too new at the time.. i didnt wanna step on anyone and make any enemies right off the bat. especially seeing how much those people who said something posted.

thats after i started working on it. lol

take it down a few notches phil. people have ripped on my typing for years now. i don't really care. i type about 30words an hour, cant spell worth ****, and create run on sentences all the time.
if people are really interested they will decifer what you are trying to say or ask you to try again.

sometimes the shorthand typing gets annoying but i can tolerate it...as long as you dont type like ThIs!1!1111 It gEtS rEeEeeEaaAaALLllLY anNoYInG

Really though, it's human to take shortcuts, don't take offence to it.
If anybody's aloud to have crappy spelling it's the engineers of this world! My dad is a crossword/scrabble genius. We only play maybe once a year but when we do he blows me out of the water. I think he's read the dictionary but I can't get him to admit to it. His awesome spelling and word vocabulary has converted me. I use www.dictionary.com at least 3 times a day. Infact I used it with this reply! (insert laughs at self here) I couldn't even spell genius, I thought there was an o somewhere :)

edit: I just found another poor grammatical error in the above reply. aloud should read allowed :loser: .

Actually not very long. I type at an above normal rate, very above.
