NEWS - Mother killed for her baby in Missouri
 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Churchgoers in two communities stunned by the slaying of an expectant mother whose baby was cut from her womb grieved for the young woman Sunday and struggled to understand her grisly death.

The Rev. Harold Hamon said he was probably addressing Christmas cards when his neighbor, Bobbie Jo Stinnett, was strangled and the infant ripped from her womb.

A short time later, a member of his congregation called to say she had heard an ambulance and wondered if anyone near the church was hurt. Hamon said he looked out the window and saw police cars parked in front of Stinnett's house.

"It's almost unbelievable that right under your nose something terrible can be happening," said Hamon, who lives in the tiny town of Skidmore in northwestern Missouri.

Lisa Montgomery, 36, of nearby Melvern, Kan., is accused of killing Stinnett on Thursday, removing the baby from her womb and trying to pass it off as her own to family and friends. The baby, a girl named Victoria Jo, was later recovered unharmed.

what kind of messed up **** is that?! the woman killed her, and cut her open to remove the baby. I can barely type because my brain is trying to comprehend this. It's just so ****ing stupid....why in God's name would you kill a pregnant woman, and take her child for yourself?! why couldn't this woman just have a kid of her own?

I hate this kind of ****.....the woman who did it should be taken out behind the shed and shot. She doesn't deserve to live.

on a lighter note..i have insight to this! on passions, beth kidnapped sheridan and stole her baby to pass it off as her own, so she could get with the guy sheridan's baby was from, and he would want to marry her. she even wore a sack of sugar strapped to her body, freak. ok ok i know this is fake but i never thought it would happen in real life either. what a strange world.

note to self: don't become pregnant cause someone might kill me. don't go to ghettobrook cause someone might kill me. don't do ANYTHING except stay in my house or else someone might kill me. happy holidays everyone!!

thats the most ****ed up thing ive ever heard. now the baby will never have a real mom.... and the mom never got a chance to see her baby..... this world is ****ed up and she should just die

that is uterly discusting.... she already had to children too... i feel bad for the husband and the two kids.. knowing that mommy killed for another baby. thats revolting. as for the husband and mother of the woman who died.. my heart goes out to them. :'(

This is actually quite old news (though I hadn't heard if the DNA tests came back that the baby found was actually the mother's). It is sick and sad, just like the mother who cut off the arms of her baby.

Oh, and this apparently happens often (well, more often that one would like). The most recent one prior to this was a little over a year ago in Oklahoma. Then there are people who go into maternity wards pretending to be a nurse and take a baby right from under the mother's nose. it's really way too common.

stealing a baby from a hospital is a completely different kind of insanity, though. to actually kill someone for the baby they have in their womb? that's beyond insanity (which i imagine will come up during the trial...) - it's just plain evil. there is no other way to put it. you are so twisted that you end a woman's life in order to take her baby? evil.

i want this woman to fry, but she'll probably spend the rest of her life in a psychiatric hospital. btw, did you get a look at her? no wonder she's stealing babies, probably can't even get a drunk to bang her.

I never said they were the same, I just said it happens a lot more than you think. Yes, they are on two different levels, but they both happen way too often.

No, I never did see a picture, I've only read about it online and the articles I read didn't have pcitures. Eh, I'm sure her defense stragy will be insanity, but somehow I doubt it'll work. The burden is then on her defense to prove her insanity, and I bet she knew full well what she was doing and that it was wrong. She probably stalked this woman until she was about to give birth (she was 8 months pregnant I think). This is just my guess tho.

thats just sickening to hear tho. i mean jeanne-marie is right... its a strange world and everywhere you turn theres a chance of death. including in your own home.

that is one crazy bitch. i hope she gets raped with a steel pole up the ass whiel being beaten by gaurds before they put her to death. (yes, i have my own twisted little version of justice)

i know. i was using what you said to draw the huge difference between the two, not trying to put words in your mouth.

and she's bu-fugly. that's butt-****ing-ugly for those of you who don't live in south jersey. the article said she met her on the internet somewhere and went to her house from the information she was able to gather. as if it's not enough to be scared ****less about the nutcases that live in your neighborhood, women can also add in complete strangers from another part of the country to the list.

i also hope nasty things happen to her while she's in jail awaiting trial. think about the people she'll be sharing her space with, and the imagination runs wild (not short of tim's example at all). the best would be an eye-for-an-eye, though: she gets brutally raped by one of the bulls, in every orifice of her body, and ends up pregnant only to have one of the other sickos rip it out of her with a dull butter knife dipped in battery acid.

she'll get off on insanity, tho, 'cause think about it: what sane, rational mind comes up with a plot to cut a baby from another woman's abdomen?
