WS6?
I just noticed (since I towed down to Hillsborough today) that there is a small, black rectangular factory badge just below the map pocket on the dash bezel.
Performance Suspension Is this a factory WS6? Â*What would that badge mean otherwise? Â*I don't have the RPO sheet, though I havent looked under the rear seats yet. |
Youd have to look for the correct code on the door pannel. I dont know off the top of my head but my old 85 T/A said the same thing and it was not a WS6 car.

Performance suspension badge came on a few diff cars, WS6 included but not the only one. Gotta see the RPO sheet to be sure.

It could mean you have the WS6 option. In most cases, if you have 15" wheels, drum rears, and the car year is 1985 or newer you most likly have the level II suspension not the level III(WS6). IIRC, the level II was called F41, which you probably have. But the RPO code is the only way to make sure...
One thing it definetly means, is that you have at least one step over base suspension ... :D |
on pontiacs the WS6 (sport performance handling group) and WS5 (sport touring chassis group) both got the badge. the WS5 group was pretty much the base V8 suspension on all trans am and formula package cars.

Then what the hell was the F41, or was i just way off??
EDIT : here we are. F41 = Suspension System, Firm Ride Handling, Front and Rear |
F41 was teh designation used in teh camaro for teh same suspension parts taht are in the WS6 package. the only thing the WS6 package had that was better is harder durometer bushings on teh front a-arms. both packages were supposed to receive the upgrade rear control arm bushings.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh .... i getcha

My 89 Ta had the WS6 pkg. Had 16 inch crosslace wheels but drum rear brakes. :(
handled nice tho, but i eventually swapped the springs to a eibach pro kit, redit all the bushings and slapped 255's all the way around. Then it handled real nice. |
