What could have been...4th Gen
looks like an offspring of a fiero, vette, and 240sx threesome, lol. I'm glad the 4th gens didnt end up like that....
Further proof that GM is parts-bin happy.....we know where they got Aurora's taillights from.

that is about as ugly as it gets...thank god they went the way they did.
this is probably the only instance where the bean counters did something good. the GM80 never got off the ground because it would have cost too much.

ahhh, the dick harrell edition Camaro. 427 ci of torquey goodness. it's a great looking car, but i'd take off all the gaudy decals and stuff.
i wish the firebird came out lookin like the 88? Banshee
Is this month's issue of High Performance Pontiac they did an article on the 80's GTO concept. It looked like a cross of the car pictured above and a Beretta (spelling). It was also FWD.

Yuck.
"A modern interpretation of the ponycar or musclecar. That's what the Firebird should be." - Harvey Bell Sounds like even Harvey believes the 4th gens are modern musclecars... I'm suprised they said the current platform was inexpensive to produce. Think about how much profit they're making on the corvette! An IRS, more composites, fancy drivetrain and nicer interior... mark it up by 100%, lol. |
