I hated the Spec because it melted after 4 passes...
I hated the Spec because it melted after 4 passes at the track after proper break in and it was back when I was making maybe 385RWH, it should have been more then enough to handle my power levels....

I would say talk to Josh first, it is ALWAYS better to go local if you can, You'll never see me give another penny to Spec, my Stage 3+ was absolute junk. Failing that the LS7 clutch is a very nice...

Yeah .020 probably won't hurt you, on a DD. Lifter problems are pretty rare, you sure they are bad? You would also definatley here an audible tapping if it was shot

Personally I'd wait and do a 12 bolt, Dana or 9" because you are pretty much tossing money in the trash on the 10 boltm but if you are hell bent on it I would go with a detroit true-trac. Lockers...

Definately sounds like hydraulics, I had both, the RAM was a bit tough on the street (it was a VDS) but you couldn't give me a Spec clutch again and get me to use it, it was JUNK, I had a stage 3+...

Pace and Scoggins dickey have kits also, T/R is kinda high price wise. Other option is to take the list of parts from T/R and punch them in to GMpartsdirect. Keep in mind almost all the LS1 gaskets...

Somehow I doubt they do that from the factory, and the it is 35 Ft LBS + 140 degrees of turn, it is up there.

That's definately a good middle of the road cam, but keep im ind the 98's have the weak connecting rod bolts so if you do a head/cam swap you may be asking for trouble if you don't do some bottom end...

A Ring? Never saw that, mine doesn't have it. I just turn mine 90 degrees and pull it off, same with all the truck engines I've taken apart.
