As a helpful update to those doing this in the future, PTFE ferrules are non reusable.
Finding this out after one backed car out of garage and then cut line, is sad.

Planning on redoing fuel lines this winter, and had originally planned on rubber braided stuff but seems like PTFE is better (and pricier).
