When I did the gear change on the LS1 I did not see any gains (et wise) on street tires. When I put on MT drag radials I saw a 3 tenth gain in time. (but I also added a few minor bolt-ons)

Yes, I was not sure of the year. It was only 96. The RPO on the vettes should list LT4. On the Fbodies they were LT1, but it was an 18K option in 97 installed by SLP.

I think the C5 Z06 calipers are the only red calipers from GM (Z06 caliper is different). You could paint them.

What size gear? upto 3:73 there should be no noise if the install was done right. 4.11 may have a small whine.
Sounds like the backlash was not set up right.

yup.. ever wonder why shops charge more for SLP...
yup.. ever wonder why shops charge more for SLP header installs.. They are a PITA to put in. When the LSx motor first came out they were the best, but other places have produced a better product.

better flowig sets out there, plus with the SLP install kit and the extra work to install them you might as well get KOOKS or QTP setup.
