Leaning more towards the purist side of things, I preferred to keep the car as close to spec as possible. If it were a GTA I would definately go for the 350. As it will be a cruiser and not a racer, I'd rather stick to the 305 and save at least a little gas. The TPI should help there too.
Actually, come to think of it, it has a TBI in it now. If I switch to TPI I'd have to recalibrate the ECM anyway right? So swapping a 305 for a 350 (if I would need to rebuild most of the original engine) wouldn't require more then recalibrating the ECM also, right? I'll have to think about that. Plus I would expect a 305 to be cheaper and more readily available than the 350.

I USED TO HAVE an 85 Camaro 305 4bbl, 90 Firebird V6, 97 Firebird V6 (10 speakers!). Despite the two family vehicles, 3 kids, wife and mortgage, I can finally realize the dream - 88 TA almost all stock... for now.
