Thanks for the insight guys. The only real way to know that your engine runs fine is to rebuild it, it seems. So maybe just making the current (non functioning) 305 into a boat anchor and just shopping around for a 350, TPI setup with wiring harness and PCM, and finding a way to reset the ECM, is the better way to go.
Mike, does the Chiltons manual have exploded views of some of the assemblies, both within the engine, and things like the dash/guages, interior, etc?
