But think about it, what is the world missing right now? Mid engine vehicles. The Mr2 is gone, Fiero MIA so you're left with only the Porsche boxer to compete with and if it's new the boxer hasn't a chance of retaining it's market without an overhaul. Not to mention if ANYBODY could make a car with bang for the buck it should be the big 3! Only trouble is GM was stuck in the "American's are content with fwd" bs. I don't care if the Buick Park Avenue has more horsepower, it's wrong wheel drive and ugly. It's only 2g's more to get a new Audi A6 with all wheel drive with MORE horsepower and not even 100lbs heavier . Oh did I forget the resale value? What's happened is this, American cars have lost their touch through years of crappy interiors and quality control issues. Doesn't help that companies like BMW recognize rwd as the true benifit that it is and Audi going awd... what does GM do, they abandon rwd and name a fwd car an Impala... that just blows my mind. It's insulting to say the least. I'm not all that unimpressed with American styling but we don't need more Sedan's, we need more options and more bang for the buck with style. Style they lost and are playing catchup but bang for the buck they're coming back... only problem is they're still a slow moving giant which makes technology take YEARS to be implemented and by that time it isn't even worth it's advantage as being a sales pitch. I think the only way for GM to bet back it's loyalists is to start producing vehicles that just nudge out every other car makers competing model by a smidgen. Don't overdue anything, just tastefully win every catagory for a comparison. With increasing materials costs you'll see lighter American models and with the added displacement it could be some very good years ahead. Al, we'll have to talk about this in person because I need to know a few things about certain inner workings... like wtf Pontiac is doing and Chevy. Caddy's doing everything right but one brand can't keep a company a float. Oh, and can somebody tell me why AWD on an American model tacks on 30% of the initial cost? WTF is up with that?
