Some of the professional classes at National and Divisional events are based off of an 'index' which is essentially like a heads up race with dial-ins, if that makes sense. Everybody is automatically dialed in on the index for the class, Super Comp is 8.90, Super Gas is 9.90.
Essentially what you do is take a faster car, put a throttle stop in it (all electronic, based on time.. if you come tomorrow ill show you) and adjust the throttle stop until you run exactly on the index. The idea is that in a race, the driver who has the best package (based on how far off 8.900 and a perfect reaction time they are) wins. Whats real tough about these classes is that I say 8.90
0 because you want it perfect down to the thousandths. Its not uncommon to lose by running 8.903 to a 8.902 or so. Like i said, its also based on reaction time, so if I run 8.900, the other person runs 8.908, and say my r/t is .011 to their .002, I lose.
