My TPI 305 at TTP Today...
Well, it was a good day. I was upset about taking the car out in the rain, but I have wanted to get the 305 dyno'd since we built it nearly 5 years ago.
Here's the specs on my motor -
- '87 roller-ready 305 from an F-body
- World Products S/R Torquer 305 heads with 1.94/1.50 valves and screw-in studs
- Crane Compucam 2031 (.432/.459 at .050, IIRC)
- aluminum full-roller rockers
- stock intake base
- SLP TPI runners
- self-ported upper plenum to match runners
- stock throttle body with an air-foil
- Edelbrock TES, test-pipe, and Hooker cat-back for exhaust system
So, drumroll please....
The SAE corrected numbers for my car are...
223 hp at 4900 rpm
277 ft/lbs at 3600 rpm
TPI is incredible for torque. I had over 250 ft/lbs from 2600 rpm all the way through 4600 rpm. And, figuring a 15% drivetrain loss gives me near 250 hp at the flywheel. Not bad for a little 305!
