Yesterday we got lucky with weather, and crap for parts. Dizzy was a tooth off which kind of pissed me off since I NEED to know the base timing to get the car running safely. Tonight we were unlucky with the weather but the car starts and idles damn good. The transmission is pretty shot seeing as it's slipping in each geary pretty bad. It was only down a quart of fluid but it didn't help that the TV cable was fubar. The TV cable sleeve was pulling completely out of the holder! The quick fix was the creative idea of Dan's teacher. He came over with hose clamps and put on on the back side of the cable to keep it from pulling through. This will work for a WHILE so long as it never pulls out (gotta keep tabs on it).
The slipping is so bad that it was an idle and cruising only tune. Just enough to get him around and break the engine in properly.
The ARAP was the start but we had idle issues. DUH, teacher came to the rescue again when he noticed the min idle hadn't been set yet! Set, restart, computer relearned the idle and brought it down but now all my little "fixers" were causing a sligh surge in RPM. Something that's good for passing inspection but not desierable. We'll fix that soon enough at atco when the transmission gets fixed. The car feels strong, almost as strong if not stronger than Paul's :P . I think it'll be a good race between em although Paul's with a SD tune will walk away with the win. Which reminds me, Paul, give me a shout sometime tomorrow or this weekend.
The only ? in my mind about Dan's tune is the 142 idle BLM which it apparently loves. It's really odd and hard to diagnose when your emulator and scanner don't work at the same time

. I should have brought my other laptop with Diacom, oh well.
Also, it helps to unplug the cold start injector when using $6E code
