I used to work at a body shop, that sounds about right (including cost of a door) Since they have to paint the door, they will have to blend the whole side of your car. Your fender and 1/4 panel will most likely be re-cleared to match. For your own benefit though, I'd get a couple of more estimates..see what kind of prices shops give you. and BTW, sorry to hear about that..that sucks. One time I came out to my IROC and there was a scratch from the gas filler door all the way to the front fender..luckily I was able to compound/buff it right out.
