Oil loss problem..intake leak? Fasterthanyou read this.....
My car has been burning a lot of oil since the rebuild last summer. I'm talking about a quart every 200 or so miles. I can really see it coming out the exhaust the last few days.
I talked to the engine builder and he says everything was replaced on it including the valve seals. I don't think it's a valve seal because he used teflon positive seals. We're thinking either there is something wrong with the PCV system or an internal intake manifold leak.
Prevo....here's where you're experiences with my car come in. I'm really thinking that it's an internal intake leak. That would most likely have caused our horrid idle problems that took forever to tweak out right? That would also explain why I couldn't find a vac leak with smoke or a propane torch. If I pull the plugs and only one or two are oil fouled then it rules out PCV and points only to valve seal or intake gasket right? Let me know if you've got time to look at the plugs with me one night soon....and you can pick up your hubs at the same time.
