I think I disagree. I didn't watch much of the trial or follow it at all, but from what I understand, there was enough reasonable doubt to make a jury aquit a confessed killer.
I really don't know whether he's guilty or not. If I was on that jury, and was told the family has tried to get money from every celeb that kid has come in contact with, that's enough reasonable doubt right there for me.

Take out celeb, and this family has tried to get money from any number of people in any number of ways, I'd still say the defendant should be aquitted by reasonable doubt.
