thats always exciting, driving your car after a long hiatus. that motor is definitly a beast, I'd be scared of it too!
As for the over-heating problem, what kind of radiator and cooling fan setup are you using? Did you get all the air out of the system? It could just be running hot because its making a lot more power than a stock engine would. Give us a few more details about the cooling system and the motor and I'm sure one of us will come up with a gameplan
