But then.... why race a pick up truck It's meant for bad weather, towing and hauling stuff

It's down to personal preference.

As for rules..... well... you gotta have a fire wall

Some races (like an efi event) require 2 matching seats, full carpetted interior, back seats can be removed, fiberglass parts can be used but must be painted, muffler, no lexan.

No one expects that a 4800lb daily driver pick-up is gonna **** all over their gutted tin can cars.......it's lots of fun to suprise unsuspecting victims ( that tin can thing was not directed at you personally). I like creature comforts, ass hauling, and being able to tow with my "race car"....
