I had to singlehandedly take on the whole class the other day, when someone argued with me that the Mustang GT is a better buy than a GTO. they said "the price of the Mustang makes it better." i told him "you find a Mustang GT for less than $30K in this area, and I'll agree with you. You can get an LS2 GTO for $30K with the GM employee discount program." he brought out the "Car and Driver" BS, with the "price as tested" being $26K, and the GTO $34K. I told him first that Car and Driver licks Ford's ass, just like every other car magazine out there, and second that I'd take a $34K Goat over a $26K Mustang any day. the battle still rages on....but I'll still fight for GM. I was rubbing this story in everyone's faces today.

The discount doesn't include the GTO anymore.
Also, here's an article comparing the 2 and look at the score. It's 211 Mustang over 210 for the GTO and that's including just about EVERYTHING. Weight it differently for yourself and the GTO could easily be the winner of the comparison.
