Looks like the rod's bottom half (fasteners maybe) let go and the result was the crank kicking the rod into the block  . Sorry to hear but like you said, it's racing and at least the top end is looking okay. |
Actually I was thinking of oil on the slicks down the track and smacking a guardrail being worse. I managed to pilot a bodied car out of that situation, a dragster would be a whole different ball game, no steering, just hold on. Thank God it didnt happen like that. Somebody came through for me for next weekend and has another motor that just needs my heads, so I'll be able to run next weekend. But again, what a PITA.
